Uberkewl Computers

This page serves as a photo gallery for the computers I have built recently. This is by no means a comprehensive listing of all the computers I have ever built. I just created this web page, but I have been building computers for about 15 years and never photographed any of them until recently. So for those of you that I have built computers for, if you want to take photos of your computer and email them to me, I will happily post the images.

This computer was a blast to build and turned out great. I haven't heard anything negative about the box yet. The case is freakin beautiful and was a pleasure to work with. The Antec 900 is a mid-tower case offering 3-5.25" drive bays, 6-3.5" drive bays for a total of 9 drive bays which is more than enough for even the worst data leeches. The 6 3.5" bays are split into 2-3 drive removable bays each equipped with a giant 120mm 3-speed fan to keep those drives from breaking a sweat. The rear of the case sports another 120mm 3-speed fan and the top of the case holds a monster 200mm big boy 3-speed fan. Additionally there is space on the case door for an optional 120mm fan. That is alot of kewl. The people at Antec are always a joy to work with. They make awesome quality cases and the support is incredible. I had a friend who broke the wiring harness on his Antec SOHO case and so I called up tech support to order a new harness and they shipped one to me for free... I'm not talking about free shipping... the harness was sent to me at NO COST. I have nothing but good things to say about Antec.

Antec 900 Ultimate Gamer's CaseWe expected the cooling capacity to be necessary for the other components we were going to be putting into the case. The blazingly fast Intel Core 2 Duo Quad Core processor was definitely going to heat things up a little bit. This processor is roughly equivalent to 4 separate processors running simultaneously, and if you can get them all working on the same task they will chew it up in short order. The EVGA Nvidia 9800GTX is a monster graphics card taking up 2 full slots on the mainboard and needs 2 power cables to drive it. The 9800GTX has 2 DVI outputs so you can set up Xinerama in a flash. This video card is a dream, and provides screamingly fast, clean, crisp graphic output regardless of the application, but it carries a hefty price tag. We installed 4 Gigabytes of Patriot DDR2 6400 RAM. This RAM comes packaged with heat spreaders which is awesome. Unfortunately the 2 2GB sticks we purchased did not come with flashing lights (inside joke). While we were in Computer Deli getting parts a guy came in and was complaining because his memory didn't have lights on it which flashed when the memory was accessed... different strokes for different folks I guess. The motherboard we chose is a work of art. The Asus P5N-T Deluxe is beautiful to look at and has a ton of features. It sports 4 DDR2 slots for a total RAM capacity of 8GB. It comes with 3 PCIE x 16 slots, 2 PCIE x 1 slots, and a PCI slot. It has onboard 7.1 digital audio and onboard gigabit ethernet and 10 USB 2.0 ports, 2 IEEE 1394a firewire ports, an eSATA port, 6 audio ports and your standard PS2 keyboard and mouse ports. The icing on the cake is the nForce Nvidia 780i SLI northbridge which supports 3-way SLI graphic adapter configurations and will allow my cousin to add one or two more 9800GTX video cards and allow them to share any graphic demands he could encounter in the future. This box is simply sick!!

Antec 900 Side ViewThe Creative X-Fi Extreme Gamer was our choice for gaming audio requirements. HD sound rules the roost when it comes to hearing your enemy trying to sneak up on you. The X-Fi CMSS-3D creates 9 virtual speakers over stereo headphones for positional audio that is so accurate you can track the enemy by sound. This massively powerful computer doesn't skimp on anything and certainly not on storage. A full Terrabyte of space is available through the Seagate 1000GB SATA drive. No computer is complete these days without an optical drive and we chose the Lite-On 20x IDE DVD-RW drive with Lightscribe technology. As you can see this is a truly sweet machine and it looks great... the case fans all glow blue when the machine is powered up and there are top mount ports for USB, 1394, and headphones... it was so nice I didn't want to let him take it home... Happy Face
